This can be considered to be a reverse cultic activity or just a reverse cult when brought into life. When man as soul-spirit seeks for the higher out of his own being, when in spiritual activity which can be thinking that is pure activity, then a reverse cultic activity is in process.
With such activity, the Lord’s Prayer can be considered in the light of initiation activity, and there can be an open door to a reverse in the usual cultic process. One of the reasons that the spiritual world asked that a Rudolf Steiner come to this earth is so what has been cultic, from times past, can be rejuvenated. As a youth, Rudolf Steiner became aware that the spiritual world was deserting the usual cultic activities in religious institutions. Rudolf Steiner’s work with priests can be seen as an effort to help to bring forth new life in the cult. New cultic activity can be seen in the work of the priests of the Christian Community. At the same time, as Rudolf Steiner became a teacher in esoteric life, he had the responsibility to also help that souls, human beings would take up a conscious path, striving for initiation. Thus in the year 1907 he began with an effort to bring an esoteric to just that prayer that has helped so much in bringing exoteric Christianity into existence.
